About the event
Are you interested in learning how psychedelics can be helpful with addictive behaviors and patterns? Are you actively using psychedelics with this intention? This circle invites you into a space of peer-to-peer support.
It is common to struggle with some form of addictive behavior—whether that means dependency on substances like drugs and alcohol, or technology or compulsive mental patterns. In this circle, we will embrace vulnerability, keep our minds open, learn from each other, and practice non-judgmental listening.
The use of psychedelics as an aid in treating addiction has a history extending back to the 1960s. Bill Wilson, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), himself believed that LSD might have a role in the recovery process. However, we live in a culture that shies away from open conversations about altered states of consciousness and experiences of addiction.
Together, we will move past stigmas and create a nurturing community for sharing and processing.
Arrival: In order to respect the circle, which begins with a set of agreements, please arrive at or before 7:00 pm. The facilitator will be unable to let anyone in who arrives more than 15 minutes late.
Donation: It takes lots of behind-the-scenes coordination to organize BPS events. This event has a suggested donation of $15. If you are unable to contribute, we still welcome you to attend; if you are able to contribute more, please consider doing so.
A shoutout to Zachary for facilitating, and a big shoutout to Cardea for providing the space!
