About the event
BPS is proud to present an evening of learning and discovery with Rachel Harris, PhD, author of Swimming in the Sacred.
Dr. Harris has been interviewing women curanderas and healers who have been practicing underground for decades, providing space for transformation unsupported in other settings. She will be joining us in person to share her learnings from these intimate conversations.
At BPS, we are working on our own model for community-based healing. So we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Harris as an elder in this space, and to explore with her how these women represent an alternative wisdom and practice to the aboveground medical model.
This is a unique opportunity to:
- hear stories from a hidden world of advanced medicine holders
- celebrate the vital and under-acknowledged contributions of women in this field of healing
- peek into a healing paradigm possibly more powerful than the therapeutic models currently being studied
After a talk and discussion-based Q+A, Dr. Harris will sign copies of her book. The second ticket tier ($30) includes a book, which you will be able to pick up at the venue. We encourage you to come prepared with questions!
It will be hosted from the lovely psychedelic ceremony space RaKiT Club in Brooklyn, NY and hosted by our Director of Community Patrick. This will be an evening to remember, and we look forward to seeing you there.
If you have any questions, please email hello@bps.community.
