Healing is often a word that follows when discussing psychedelics. But just as often, there’s also a hope and a feeling shared that these substances can make us, and our communities and society, “better”. 

But is this hope a reality or illusion? What does “better” actually mean for individuals, communities and society? Our social life? Our political life? And how do we reconcile that hope with so many examples of actors in the psychedelic world abusing their power and failing ethically?

Using the lens of virtue ethics and eudaimonia, or human flourishing, we’ll dive into these questions with two of the most thoughtful voices in the field: Jules Evans and Jay Michaelson PhD.
